Currently Wearing

It was a chilly winter morning when I went to Geneva to meet Miriam, from Currently Wearing, to have a coffee and to catch up. We haven’t seen each other in a long time, even though we have worked together for quite some time. To be quite honest, she did not have a child when I last saw her. So, we had a lot to catch up on!

I was very curious what it means to have a child and how it works in combination with her work and the blog and how on Earth can one person handle everything? Of course, there is Alex, her husband, but even in two, it can be quite a task! As we all know, 2-year olds are in their crazy moments at this age, and Chloe-Sofia is no exception. She is an energetic little girl who needs a lot of attention, as is normal, but that can take its toll on any parent.

As Miriam said, it can get quite tough at times, but it is also a wonderful experience and one that can shape a person in ways you don’t expect before. She thought she would be the strict parent, however after her child was born, she was surprised to see that she was the parent that gave into Chloe-Sofia’s requests much easier.

I guess this is what being a parent means right? Giving all we can to your child, trying not to spoil them and going through constant questioning about how to proceed as a parent and what is best for your child.

Yes, yes, I know. I am one to talk! No kids but full of opinions!

Even with no children, I can see how it changes your life. It changes your schedule and way of spending your time and the locations where you spend your time change almost completely. We have asked Miriam to give us 5 places she likes to go with Chloe-Sofia when she goes out. Here are some of her favorite child-friendly locations where you can take your child and enjoy a fabulous time. One thing I know for sure is that even with children, you can still go out and have a great time!

Location 1: Hotel President Wilson in Geneva

Location 2: Hotel de la Paix in Geneva

Location 3: Bubbles, Rue Sigismond-Thalberg 6, 1201 Genève.
Private club for kids where they can play and attend different courses.

Location 4: Boulangerie Wolfisberg in Carouge
They have a small inside playground for kids.

Location 5: Les Philosophes, Rue Prévost-Martin 5, 1205 Genève.
Lovely restaurant which has enough space for kids to run around.

And as our allocated hour turned into two, we really had to leave and see to our other tasks of the day, but we spent a great time and we should definitely do it again!
