3 Simple Foods to Kill Your Hangover

When you wake up with a heavy head after you overdosed on that rose wine, all you need to do is to follow a few simple steps to fully recover. We all experience the hangover differently. Some of us suffer in the morning and by 3 o’clock they are ready to move forward, feeling cured. Some belong to the other group of afternoon hangovers and feel quite ok in the morning to later get hit by the afternoon pain. Some are deep in it, for the whole day… and we all feel sorry for you!

But let’s not cry over the spilled milk. Now it is time for self-curing activities, so force yourself (or someone who likes you enough) to lift your half-dead body of the bed and follow those simple steps in order to cure the hangover of the year.

Now we’re talking: go to shop and visit your kitchen and choose some or all of these simple, but golden foods that will help you to recover from your hangover.

Avocado & poached egg toast

You need:

1 x soft avocado
2 x eggs
bread
lemon
mint
salt & pepper
olive oil

It is not the easiest task to work on your perfect poached egg when you are experiencing the hangover, but a little challenge of the day may be good for you. To perfectly poach your eggs you need to add a drop of vinegar into your boiling water, bring a pan of water filled at least 5cm deep to a simmer, stir the water to create a whirlpool, slowly tip the egg into the centre and cook it for 3-4 minutes or until the white is set.

Detox Green Smoothie

You need:

2 x bananas
3 x spoons of oats
2 x spoons of sunflower seeds
1 x spoon of honey
3 x glasses of milk (almond, rice or regular)
handful of spinach leaves
lemon

Slice your bananas into the smoothie maker, add all the other ingredients – bland well until smooth and creamy !

Carrot & Ginger Soup

You need:

1 kg of carrots
2 x onions
1 x clove of garlic
3 cm long piece of ginger
1/2 piece of chili pepper
400 ml of coconut milk
olive oil
1 l of veggie bullion
salt & pepper
fresh coriander

This one is involving some work too, but it is worth all the labor & you will have enough soup for all the people who partied with you last night. In a large pot heat the oil, add the cut and peeled chili, peeled and grated ginger and start frying. Add peeled garlic and peeled onion. Keep frying it for about 3 minutes stirring constantly.
Then add a sliced carrot and continue frying for another 10 minutes on a low heat. Pour the hot broth. Boil for about 5-10 minutes. Mix with a blender for a smooth purée, add salt & pepper. Pour coconut milk and bring to a boil. Before serving your soup add fresh coriander.
